John E. L. Peck

John E. L. Peck was the first permanent "Head of Department of Computer Science" at the University of British Columbia. He remained the Head of Department from 1969 to 1977.

He was one of the editors of the original "Report on the Algorithmic Language ALGOL 68" and a contributing editor to the "Revised Report on the Algorithmic Language ALGOL 68".
