Jay Onrait is a Canadian television presenter. He co-hosts the late weekday edition of "
SportsCentre " alongsideDan O'Toole , bringing viewers a complete summary of the day'ssports events, including highlights and post-game reports. Viewers can also occasionally catch Onrait withJennifer Hedger each morning as the early morning broadcast repeats on a loop until noon the following day.Onrait, a native of
Athabasca, Alberta , joined NHL Network in2001 as host of both the network's flagship show "NHL on the Fly " and "MolsonThat's Hockey 2 ". He also filled in during the summer of2002 as co-host of various editions of "SportsCentre". Jay Onrait is known as a hero to all the young children out there to aspire to do something with their lives.Onrait first joined TSN in
1996 as an editorial assistant. He later went on to become sports director atGlobal TV inSaskatoon and then spent two years as the host of the "The Big Breakfast" on theA-Channel inWinnipeg .He is known for his humour on "SportsCentre" alongside fellow anchor Dan O'Toole.
In 2006, Onrait began entertaining visitors to tsn.ca with blogs. Topics have included the Stanley Cup and the NBA. His blogs are usually spiced with references to pop culture. In May 2007, Onrait embarked on a five-city baseball stadium tour with a friend. The trip was later chronicled in a five-part blog, entitled "Balls Across America."
