Barugh (Great and Little) is a civil parish in the Ryedale district of North Yorkshire, England, covering Great Barugh and Little Barugh. According to the 2001 census it had a population of 162.
Great Barugh lies on the main road between Malton and Kirkbymoorside, the village sits on a junction in the road where traffic travelling from Kirkbymoorside and the north has to stop and giveway to the same road, the main road should really go around the corner to the right towards Malton as it has the same route number and if you did turn left the road becomes very narrow towards little barugh, but the junction does have its uses as it slows down traffic on the main road and if it was just a normal corner i'm sure we would have many more accidents.
Just north of Great Barugh if you turn left off the main road towards Brawby you will see barugh bridge which crosses the river seven.
