It is located in Orlando,Florida (USA). Built in 1995 at a cost of over $500,000, with Paul Robinson donating almost half the total cost. Recently many updates and renovations have been performed with the most recent being completed in 2007 which added high speed internet connection, a brand new 20 inch Ritchey-Chretien telescope the ability to remotely operate the dome and telescope. Plans are under way to expand the Observatory to include two smaller telescopes with the domes donated by theUnited States Air Force . The observatory and telescope were not officially named for Mr. Robinson, who died in 1995, until April 25, 1996.An open viewing is held the first and third Wednesday of each month and is sponsored by the
Central Florida Astronomical Society .See also
