Allington, Lincolnshire

Allington is a village and civil parish in the South Kesteven district of Lincolnshire, England, just north-west of Grantham. The 2001 census gave a population of 728 for the parish. Originally East and West Allington had their own churches but today only one [http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/164854 church] survives (Holy Trinity). The village [http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/11525 pub] is the [http://www.welbyarms.co.uk Welby Arms] on " [http://www.diningpubs.co.uk/pub_details.asp?id=11 The Green] ". The [http://www.allingtonmanor.co.uk Old Manor House] is now a hotel. The Viking Way used to go through the village until 1997, but was diverted to follow a roadbridge over the A1. The [http://www.allingtonsedgebrook.lincs.sch.uk primary school] is shared with Sedgebrook.
