Allsorts (TV series)

"Allsorts" (also known as Bassenthwaite) is a British children's television series about a group of children living in a housing estate in a small town within the England. The show consists of the children playing outside in their street on a regular basis getting into mayhem and mischief on the way. The show started in 2001 and stopped at the end of 2002 for unknown reasons, but was brought back in 2005 with a new format and cast which changes every series. It currently is still being filmed and has Six Seasons (5 shows in each) with a total of 30 episodes so far.

Characters (Past and Present)

Over the past 7 years, the programme has featured many characters that haven't lasted long but have had an impact on viewers and the show itself. The first season, introduced Jade and Katie, these were the central figures that were related to as the main stars. Jade was a lovely girl, who always presented the shows and welcomed the viewers to the programme. Katie was slightly different, she was a bit wild and the totally opposite of Jade. Nicky and Shaun, there boyfriends also made appearances. This season was mainly filmed at the top of the street. Other characters such as Rebecca, Carrieanne, Jonathan, and Jessica were also introduced but not made stars until the second series.

The second series was wilder and the characters expanded further down the road. Jade and Katie were still presented as the main roles of the programme but the first few episodes concentrated on the characters that only made minor reference in the first season. It also introduced new characters such as Vinny, Moya and Andrew Lockron and Tony the Icecream Van. This season would be the last show that most of the characters would be seen. Rebecca, Jessica, Vinny and Tony were the only ones to return.

The third series shown a massive difference. The whole format of the programme had changed, as well as the cast. The three surviving originals had returned with an additional five new characters (Andrew, Connor, Jonny, Laura, Amy and Eilis) one being a recurring person. The episodes from now on became more entertaining and fun. Vinny would appear in two shows this series, but would not return.

The fourth series shown the continuous entertaining format with more relaxed and fun shows. It introduced an extra two characters, Shanice and Danny, which would both become popular with viewers. This series started the saga 'Murder Mysteries' and the 1st 'Big Brother'. Sadly at the end of this series, 4 characters were set to leave.

The fifth series was less active than the previous ones but still as entertaining. Two main characters would be introduced, Kristian, Thomas and his brother James, which would also become hilarious and popular. With popular rating, a party was one of the episodes which would see the introduce Liam, a person to become a main character, an appearance of Eilis and other recurring characters. This would be last season to star Andrew.

The Sixth series is back to being active and high ratings. Four new characters would be added to the cast (Adam, Nicole, Chris and Rhys and the return of Liam) which would all play hilarious parts. This show contained a sequel to a previous show 'Murder Mysteries' and a stunt skid show. This would be the last season to star Kristian.

The 7th series is in production.
