Waubra is a little town in Victoria, Australia, convert|33|km|mi|0|lk=on north west of Ballarat. At the 2006 census, Waubra and the surrounding area had a population of 494.Census 2006 AUS

Waubra was known as The Springs until around 1888. The Post Office opened on 20 April 1860 as The Springs and was renamed Waubra in 1889. Citation

The town was served by a Victorian Railways 5' 3" (1600mm) gauge branchline which opened in October 1888 ["The Waubra Branch Line" Turton, Keith W. Australian Railway Historical Society Bulletin, December, 1969 pp287-293] . In 1931, passenger services were withdrawn and the line continued as a "goods only" line through to its closure in January 1968. The Local Bus line is called McDonalds Bus Lines owned by Brendan McDonald

Sport

The Waubra Kangaroos football team competes in the Central Highlands Football League. They won the 2006 Grand Final and Runners up to Daylesford in the 2007 Grand Final, and the reserves won the 2007 grandfinal.
