Independence Mall (Massachusetts)

Independence Mall, also known as the Kingston Mall, is a one story enclosed shopping center with 100 stores and restaurants. Built in 1989, the mall serves the South Shore communities of Plymouth County, Massachusetts, in the United States. Department stores include Target, Macy's, and Sears; the mall also features Old Navy, Borders, Linens 'n Things, Regal Cinemas, and Best Buy, as well as a large food court.

History

Bradlees and JC Penney closed in early 2001. JC Penney's space became Bob's Stores, which closed in 2003; Bradlees closed in late 2002 with the store space built out to accommodate Target. Lechmere closed in 1997, becoming Linens 'n Things in 2003, as of September 2008 Linens and things is closed. Old Navy and Borders also opened around that time.

Independence Mall is located off exit 8 of Route 3 in southern Kingston, Massachusetts (Smith Lane/Rocky Nook exit).
