Carondelet High School is an all-girls private Catholic high school in Concord, California. The school of about 800 students was founded in 1965. It shares some resources with its brother high school, De La Salle High School, which is across a side-street that separates them. Students in their junior and senior years are able to take classes at the other school for four of the school's six class periods, and also as lowerclassmen for language and art. The school is located within the Diocese of Oakland.

Carondelet Athletics include soccer, basketball, cross country running (which won the 2006 state championship), volleyball, golf, water polo, tennis, lacrosse, track and field, swimming, softball, diving, as well as a cheer team and dance team.

Academics

There are six main class periods, plus an optional "zero" (In the morning) and 7th period at the end of the day. All classes are held Monday, Tuesday, and Friday, and last roughly 45 minutes. "Block days" are most Wednesdays and Thursdays. On Wednesdays, periods 1, 3, and 5 meet for about 80 minutes, and on Thursdays periods 2, 4, and 6 meet for about 80 minutes. The freshman class was of only 115 young women. The school was completed on October 22, 1966, being dedicated to Bishop Floyd Begin.

From their web site: " Carondelet High School, founded and sponsored by the Sisters of Saint Joseph of Carondelet, provides quality Catholic education in a caring environment.
