"C'est les vacances" ("It's the Holidays/Vacations") is a 2005 song recorded by the French singer Ilona. It was released as second single from her debut album, "Un Monde parfait", on July 19, 2005. It was a great success in several countries, including France, Belgium (Wallonia) and Switzerland, even it didn't manage to reach number-one.

Lyrics and music

Produced by Ivan Russo and Rosario Castagnola, the song was composed by the latter, Mixivan and Laurent Jeanne, who also performed the background vocals. The song was recorded in France and in Italy.

In this song, Ilona explains her holidays in Italy, with her friends.

Chart performances

"C'est les vacances" had a great success in France, but failed to achieve the same huge performance as the previous single, "Un Monde parfait". It went straight to #3 on July 25, 2005 (that week, "Un Monde parfait" dropped to #2 being replaced at the top by Crazy Frog's "Axel F"). Here it stayed for another week, then peaked at #2. However, "Un Monde parfait", then released since five months, managed to reached again #2, thus surpassing again "C'est les vacances" which dropped to #3. This one remained for three consecutive weeks at this position, then was #4 for four weeks. After that, the single almost kept on dropping. Although it was not certified, it was sold more than 442,800 copies. In Belgium (Wallonia), the single debuted at #27 on July 16 on the Ultratop 40 Singles Chart, then jumped to #6 and reached two weeks after its peak position, #3, where it stayed for four unconsecutive weeks.
