Tingüindín

Tingüindín is a municipality in the Mexican state of Michoacán. The municipality has an area of 174.24 square kilometres (0.29% of the surface of the state) and is bordered to the north by the municipalities of Villamar, Tangamandapio and Tangancícuaro, to the east by Los Reyes, and to the south and west by Tocumbo. The municipality had a population of 12,414 inhabitants according to the 2005 census. The principal festivity takes place on august 15 in honor to the asencion of the virgin mary.
