Hamish Rosser is currently the drummer of an Australian garage rock band The Vines. He graduated with a degree in Engineering from Sydney University. He worked as a chemical engineer in Sydney. He left his job so that he could play music with bands. Before he joined the Vines, Hamish toured the world with a local cover band called Sixties Mania.

Early life

During his early years Hamish was very athletic. He enjoyed playing rugby until he had an accident when his spleen exploded and he came very close to death. Two weeks after returning to school and playing rugby, he realized that music might be a smarter choice. He was on his way to audition for the Blue Man Group in Las Vegas when he applied to audition for a "Nirvana influenced" band entitled the Vines.

He has 3 brothers; Tim, Martin & Gavin.

The Vines

When The Vines former drummer David Oliffe left the band while recording Highly Evolved, Craig Nicholls and Patrick Matthews placed an ad in an Australian newspaper for a drummer who was an experienced live performer. Hamish then auditioned for Craig and Patrick and so was chosen to be the new Vines drummer.

He also enjoys surfing and photography. Some photographs of the band and individual members(some included in the Vision Valley booklet) have been taken by him.

Hamish brews beer and has launched a beer called Skinny Blonde. It is currently sold at the Beach Road hotel in Bondi.
