Peter Dickson is a British radio presenter, television announcer and voice over artist who rose to prominence in the 1990s. He has worked extensively as an
announcer in the gameshow genre on (amongst others) "The Price Is Right" (Bruce Forsyth andJoe Pasquale versions), "Gameshow Marathon", "Soapstar Superstar ", "Viewer of the Year", "Family Fortunes ", "They Think It's All Over", "The X Factor", "Britain's Got Talent ", "Test the Nation ", and "Last Chance Lottery ". He worked closely with
Steve Wright , creating writing and voicing many of the household name characters for Steve's afternoon and morning award winning shows onBBC Radio 1 during the 80s and early 90s. In 1990, he launched the immensely successfulMelody Radio (nowMagic 105.4 ) in London, where he presented the breakfast show for 4 years. He continues to present music and entertainment shows for BBC Radio 2 and has contributed to two series of "Quote Unquote " for BBC Radio 4. PlayStation "Official Formula 1" game for Eidos, "Monster World", "Dragon Quest", the new Virgin interactive PC Games "Evolva" and "Lotus Challenge", Take Two's blockbuster "Flying Heroes" and "Atrox", "Everybody's Golf", "Everybody's Tennis" and "Pizza Connection II" for Sony. He is also the voice of "Hex" - The Legend of the Towers, the new theme ride at Britain's premier theme park Alton Towers and created the characters for LEGO'S Worldwide PC game hit "Knight's Creator Kingdom" and "Crazy Castle".©Peter is the voice of the BBC's award winning national IVR Call handling system incorporating a 40,000 employee name database and Cineworld UK's film information and booking line.
In 2004, Peter was cast by legendary radio producer Jon Naismith to play various character roles in "The Department", a comedy series on BBC Radio 4 starring and written by Chris Addison, John Oliver, and Andy Zaltzman.
On 26 July 2008, He worked with
Radio 1 's DJScott Mills as the voice-over to Barry-oke, which broadcasted fromBarry Island, Wales .Although he can be often heard using a variety of accents and voices, Peter's most well-known booming vocal style is similar to the late
