Cardozo Senior High School

Cardozo Senior High School is a secondary school at 13th and Clifton Street in northwest Washington, D.C., United States, in the Columbia Heights neighborhood.

Cardozo is operated by District of Columbia Public Schools. The school is named after Francis Lewis Cardozo, the first African American to hold an administrative office in South Carolina. During the 1970's and 1980's, Cardozo's marching band was one of the best in Washington, DC, and won several band competitions. Due to their enormous popularity, the band was invited to participate in the Rose Bowl Parade in 1981.

The video for the "Don't Copy That Floppy" anti-software piracy campaign was shot at Cardozo.

Improvement

Cardozo was one of 11 schools nation-wide selected by the College Board for inclusion in the EXCELerator "School Improvement Model" program beginning the 2006-2007 school year. The project was funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
