Doug Williams an American born Bassist [1] (born November 9, 1969 in Van Nuys, California)

Williams began playing bass at the age of 8 years old, and has claimed to be "Self Tought". His past contributions include the Bassist for the Death Metal[2] bands Origin[1] and Cephalic Carnage having earned him endorsements from the B.C. Rich Guitar Company.[3] and the Warwick Bass Company.[4], as well as Ampeg Bass Amplification[5].

Williams moved to Kansas City, Missouri in 1991, continuing to play bass for several failed acts there before moving to Denver, Colorado in 1995. There he joined (Cephalic Carnage). Williams has always been noted for his hatred for Kansas Citys' "Bible Belt", "Weekend Warrior" music scene as he has called it. When asked about his moving to Missouri he solidly states, "I suppose if you have to get up & go to work everyday but Sunday and love Barbeque, then Kansas Citys' perfect for you, just don't expect to get anywhere in the extreme music industry."

He has a daughter and one son, and is also noted for his collaborating with the (BC Rich) guitar company in 1996 creating the first model of a Warlock Bass fitted with the Widow Bass headstock which became standard on their Non-Custom U.S.A. Models boosting their sales by 133% in 1997 and earning himself an endorsement. It was in 2009 during an interview with a local radio show that he made it clear when asked about his choice of instruments he had said, "I Had to let (BC Rich) go for (Spector) basses, the quality difference has finally outweighed the now poorly contructed Instruments that fight to be played". Williams now uses (Spector) Basses exclusively. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ The Cephalic Carnage years (1994-1997)Fortuitous Oddity[6],Conforming to Abnormality[7],(1994–2001)

Cephalic Carnage formed in Denver, Colorado, in 1994 by vocalist Lenzig Leal and guitarist Zac Joe. In 1996, they recruited drummer (John Merryman), guitarist Steve Goldberg and bassist Doug Williams.

Merryman also collaborated with Secret Chiefs[8] Soon after the reformation, Conforming to Abnormality[9] was released. During 1997, Cephalic Carnage financed its own tour across the United States.Playing several "Milwaukee Metal Fests" and touring with such bands as Wicked Innocense,(Brujeria),(The Dillinger Escape Plan),(Vile) and many others. Cephalic has been known as pioneers of (Grindcore) by their fans. "Infusing technical Jazz bass and guitar plaing with the sheer brutality of (Death Metal)". In 1997, the band caught the attention of Italian record label Headfucker Records, which released the band's debut album (Conforming to Abnormality) that year. After this release, the band toured extinsively playing Europe, Asia and South America. After recording bass tracks for the follow-up,"Conforming to Abnormality" Williams left in 1997 due to family issues moved and back to Kansas City and joined (Origin) soon thereafter. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________The Origin Years (1997-2001)Somewhat comparable to the likes of extreme metal veterans Cryptopsy and relative newcomers such as Cephalic Carnage, the Kansas-based quintet Origin specializes in ridiculously technical, fast, and punishing death/grind metal. The group was initially founded by guitarists Paul Ryan and Jeremy Turner in July of 1997. Over the next six months, the duo enlisted bassist Clint Appelhanz, vocalist Mark Manning, and drummer George Fluke to fill out the first Origin lineup, which went on to record the demo A Coming Into Existence in October of 1997.

Williams with "Origin" in 2000

A new rhythm section came on board in the form of bassist (Doug Williams) (formerly of (Cephalic Carnage)) and drummer John Longstreth (formerly of (Angel Corpse). This lineup went on to record the group's self-titled debut album for (Relapse Records), which was released in 2000. In the wake of this CD, Origin went on extensive tours with fellow death metal extremists including (Cryptopsy),(Vader),(Cephalic Carnage)and (Dying Fetus).Again playing even more "Milwaukee Metal Fests". More lineup changes would follow before the band could make it back into the studio, as vocalist James Lee stepped in to replace Manning and bassist Mike Flores moved in as the replacement for Williams who left (Origin) in 2001 to enlist in the (U.S.Army).
