The Bible College of Wales

The Bible College of Wales

The Bible College of Wales was founded in Swansea in 1924 by Rees Howells. He was led down the path of intercession for many years, before seeing Revival across Southern Africa from 1915-1920. The college is featured in the DVD "."

Returning to Britain, he felt called by the Holy Spirit to start a BibleCollege; his inspiration being the 900 student capacity Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, Illinois. It formally opened at Glynderwen House, Swansea, UK in 1924. This section of the college was closed down in 2006, and all the buildings have been demolished. Flats will be built on the upper level. The college still has two sites on Derwen Fawr Road, Sketty, Swansea, SA2 8EB, which were purchased by Rees Howells.

Rees Howells became well-know as an intercessor [ [http://www.ukpray.co.uk Prayer - Intercession - Tongues - Pray Always! - www.byfaith.co.uk - Jesus is Lord ] ] , after the success of his life story, 'Rees Howells Intercessor', by Norman Grubb.

Rees Howells was director of the college until his death in 1950, when he was succeeded by his son Samuel Rees Howells as Honorary Director - he passed into glory a few years ago. The college now offers a practical ministry course and is developing a partnership with the University of Wales, Bangor to contribute an accredited part of the university's theology degree course.

Before the Bible College was founded by Rees Howells it was originally owned by the Giles family (who was my nana) whom were very wealthy. They owned horses, dogs and Guinea Pigs.
