Purpose

Since 1991, when the last of its secondary school students finished their Leaving Certificate examinations, the College has focused on its role as a dedicated college of further education. Running both full time day courses, and a night school, the College offers hundreds of courses across computing, business studies, office administration, applied languages, health studies, beauty therapy, complementary therapy, childcare and Montessori, fashion, travel and tourism, adult Leaving Certificate, professional courses, leisure courses, repeat for honours, and general interest courses.

Indeed, while the State non-fee paying schools, such as the Cork College of Commerce, have continued to dominate the third-level feeder schools league tables, ninety per cent of repeat Leaving Certificate students from the Cork College of Commerce have continued on to third level.

Relations

A flagship for the Further Education and Training Awards Council (FETAC), the College also continues its relationship with the business community in partnerships with professional bodies and examining authorities, including:

Projects

The College is active in a number of European and other educational projects - including the free/open source learning objects development SLOOP Project.
