Taunton City Hall

Taunton City Hall

Taunton City Hall is the home of the municipal government of Taunton, Massachusetts. It contains many various municipal offices within the building and its perimeter. The building was originally constructed in 1848, but had a castle-like facade that was removed in 1896 and replaced with the current front portion. Located next to the city hall, where a small house appears in the photo at right, is the city's main police station. The statue visible is of Robert Treat Paine, and across that statue's square is the historic Church Green Historic District, which inlcludes the First Parish Church.
