Holy Island (Welsh: "Ynys Gybi", 'the island of (Saint)
Cybi ') is anisland (convert|15.22|sqmi|km2|1|abbr=on) on the western side ofAnglesey , northWales . It is called "Holy" because of the high concentration ofstanding stones ,burial chamber s and other religious sites on the small island. The alternative and historic name of the island is Holyhead Island. According to the 2001 Census, the population of Ynys Gybi is 13,579.History
