The A478 road is a major route in the Welsh counties of Ceredigion, Pembrokeshire and Carmarthenshire, connecting Cardigan (junction with the A487 road) and Tenby.

;RouteFrom north to south it runs through:
*Cardigan;
* — crosses the county boundary to Pembrokeshire
*Pen-y-Bryn;
*Rhoshill;
*Blaenffos;
*Crymych;
* — crosses the county boundary to Carmarthenshire
*Efailwen;
* — re-crosses the county boundary to Pembrokeshire
*Llandissilio;
* — until around 2001 at this point the road re-crossed the county boundary to Carmarthenshire to between Clynderwen and the A40, but now after local government boundary changes it stays wholly in Pembrokeshire
*Clynderwen and Clynderwen railway station;
* — crosses the A40 road;
*Narberth;
*Templeton;
*Begelly;
* — crosses the A477 road;
* Pentlepoir;
* Wooden;
* Moreton;
* New Hedges;
* Tenby.

The A478 is 30 miles in length.
