Serangoon Junior College (SRJC) is a junior college in Singapore, offering a two-year course for pre-university students leading up to GCE 'A' Level examinations.

SRJC was established in 1988 as the 14th Junior College in Singapore. The college was located at temporary premises in Hougang before moving to its present campus along Upper Serangoon Road in December 1990. On 29 May 1992, the College was officially declared open by the then Minister for Education and MP for Cheng San GRC, Mr Lee Yock Suan.

Since establishment, the college has endorsed the concept of a well-rounded education by offering quality, value-added pre-university experiences to her students. The college aims to nurture every SRJCian into confident and accomplished individual. With balanced emphasis on academic excellence, CCA achievements, leadership training and character building, every experience- whether within or outside the classroom- becomes a learning experience for students.

College Uniform

The college uniform constitutes a light beige shirt or blouse for the boys and girls respectively. It is complemented by light beige trousers for the boys and skirt for the girls. This is a brand new set of uniform introduced in 2008. Prior to that, the trousers and skirts are brown. The old cotton-based college PE T-shirt has been replaced by a brand-new Dri-Fit T-shirt embraced with a new design in 2006. The PE T-shirt was modified again in 2008, bringing in identification of the students' respective Houses. The old House T-shirt has since been done away with. The college also allows students to wear school's bermuda short along with the school polo shirt on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

New additions such as additional classrooms, IT Rooms, a 600-seater Auditorium, a Students' Lounge, a cafe and an air-conditioned Study Area augment the already-comprehensive range of facilities. The college is the only junior college among the 600 Wifi hot spots that are under Wireless@SG in 2006. There are several locations in the campus where users can go online wirelessly for free. SRJC students can thus conduct online research and access our e-learning platform, ASPIRE anywhere in school.

In 2004, the school spent a total sum of $2 million on another overall upgrading of the school's facilities. Extensive upgrading was done in the canteen, the numerous sport facilities within the campus (rock climbing bouldering wall, soccer field, volleyball court), all the 5 Lecture Theatres and the Toilets. The Media Resource Library as of 2006 also includes a computer room for wireless internet surfing. The two-and-a-half Tennis Courts were renovated and expanded in August 2005 where a court draining network was installed.

The college underwent a repaint job in 2005. The whole campus has walls which are painted with motifs, patterns and drawings by various groups of students as a CCA or class. The most prominent walls which have these special paintings are outside the canteen, under a project entitled 'Walls of Hope'.

The college hall also underwent another renovation in June 2006 and became fully air-conditioned. The air-conditioned study area was fully renovated to become a multi-purpose area used mainly for studying, seminars, exhibitions etc. Towards the end of 2006, all the lecture theatres were again renovated and equipped with new seats and teaching equipments. In 2007, the college library underwent a full renovation and a new Science Research Studio was also set up.
