Simranjit Singh Mann is an
Akalileader from Punjab and the founding president of the Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar). He is also a former senior official of the Indian Police Service. He is also the brother in law of the former Congress Punjab Chief Minister, Amarinder Singh. He is grandson of a former temporal head of Sikhism, Jathedarof Akal Takht, Aroor Singh. He is regarded as a maverick politician. He has a clique of neo-Sikh supporters particularly abroad and the biggest Khalistani politician in India.
