"Out of My System" is pop vocalist Feargal Sharkey's last single of 1988 (not including promo single "If This is Love") and second single from his second album Wish.[1] This was Sharkey's first single not to have a promotional video created without counting the Australian only single "It's All Over Now".

The single was written by Eddie Chacon who was part of the duo Charles & Eddie in the first half of the 1990s, along with Suzanne Valentine.[2]

The single failed to enter the UK top 100, the first single of Sharkey's to do so. Sharkey's previous 1988 single "More Love" peaked at #44 in the UK.[3]

The CD version of the single featured the track "Blue Days" which was featured on Sharkey's Wish album.[4]

The b-side for the single "A Touch of Blue" was exclusive to the single, written by Sharkey and Tim Daly[5], who was lyrical consultant on Pink Floyd's 1987 album "Momentary Lapse of Reason," and has also working with other musicians such as David A. Stewart, Hugh Masekela, John Archdeacon and Henry Mancini.[6] "A Touch of Blue" itself is similarly titled to Sharkey's b-side on the previous 1988 single More Love, titled "A Breath of Scandal".[7]
