History

The Open Window School was originally founded in 1983 by Mary Ann Simpson and Jean Booker for a preschool. In 1985, it expanded to have a elementary school. As it expanded, it moved to the Lake Hills Elementary campus. Finally, in 1998, the school purchased land for what is now the current campus. In 2004, Open Window School officially moved into the campus. Then in 2007, Open Window School expanded once again to include a Middle School, named Vista Academy. The school, in 2008-2009 eliminated the Pre-Kindergarten program. Since Fall 2009, the school has been talking about plans to expand. Construction on the playfield and some other changes will begin Spring 2011.[3]
