History

Oklahoma City Air Defense Sector was established as part of phaseout of Central Air Defense Force; it was discontinued 1 September 1961 and redesignated 4752d Air Defense Wing. Then OCADS was re-established as 25 June 1953 as Oklahoma City Air Defense Sector result of realignment and expansion of 29th Air Division. Finally it was inactivated and redesignated as the 31st Air Division on 1 April 1966.

The sector operated a Manual Air-Defense Control Center (ADCC), P-86, later re-designated Manual Combat Center (MCC-11) and later NORAD Sector Combat Center (Manual).

Note: The 4752d Air Defense Wing reassigned to Webb AFB, Texas, 25 June 1953 – 31 December 1967 assigned to 29th Air Division. Primarily acted as an ADC F-104 Starfighter training organization (331st FIS, later 4760th CCTS in 1967).
