Okhansky District (Russian: Оханский райо́н) is an administrative district (raion) of Perm Krai, Russia; one of the thirty-three in the krai. Municipally, it is incorporated as Okhansky Municipal District. The area of the district is 1,516.1 square kilometers (585.4 sq mi).^{[citation needed]} Its administrative center is the town of Okhansk.^[1] District's population: 16,271 (2010 Census preliminary results);^[2] 17,873 (2002 Census);^[3] 18,747 (1989 Census).^[6] Population of Okhansk accounts for 44.6% of the district's population.^[2]

Geography

The Kama River is the largest in the district and forms the district's border with Permsky District.

History

The district was established in 1923.^{[citation needed]}

Demographics

Ethnic composition: Russians: 94.4%; Komi-Permyak people: 1.5%; Tatars: 1.1%.^{[citation needed]}

Economy

The economy of the district is based mostly on light industry and agriculture.
