Patrick Nyema Gerhardt (born 31 July 1985) is a Liberian international football defender playing with FK Željezničar Sarajevo in the Premier League of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Born in Switzerland, Gerhardt also holds Swiss citizenship.

Career

He began his career in Bern by BSC Young Boys and moved in July 2007 to FC Concordia Basel. Nyema left after 1 season Basel and moved to Romanian Liga I team CS Otopeni.^[1] He was then playing for Brantford Galaxy in Brantford, Ontario.

On 26 January 2011 FK Željezničar Sarajevo announced that he's coming on trial with this club. ^[2] He signed for FK Željezničar Sarajevo on 7 February,and his contract with FK Željezničar Sarajevo expires in the end of the season 2010-11. ^[3]

National team

Despite being born in Bern, Switzerland, Gerhardt accepted the call to play for Liberian national team, country to which he was linked by his ancestry, and debuted on March 26, 2011 in a 2012 Africa Cup of Nations qualification match against Cape Verde Islands, a 2-4 loss.^[4]
