After his time at Pratt, Tiffee signed a letter of intent to playbaseball atLouisiana State University , but chose instead to sign with theMinnesota Twins (scoutGregg Miller ) when he was acquired in the 26th round of the June 1999 free agent draft.He met his wife, Kelli, in city-state|Liberal|Kansas where he was playing fall league. They have a one-year-old daughter and welcomed twin sons in July by|2006.
Tiffee played with the
Rochester Red Wings in the by|2006 Governor's CupInternational League Championship Series. Rochester squandered a two game to one lead and lost the series 3-2.After playing parts of three seasons in the majors for the Twins from by|2004-2006, he signed a minor league deal with the
Baltimore Orioles onJanuary 5 , by|2007. OnNovember 29 , 2007, Tiffee signed a minor league contract with theLos Angeles Dodgers and was assigned to play for the Triple-ALas Vegas 51s .On
May 25 , by|2008, Tiffee's contract was purchased by the Dodgers, and he was added to the active roster. He singled in his firstat bat for the Dodgers as apinch hitter that same day. He compiled a .250 average in six games with the Dodgers before being designated for assignment onJune 7 , to make room for the recently acquiredÁngel Berroa . He cleared waivers and was optioned back to Las Vegas.2008 USA Baseball Olympic Team
Tiffee was hammering the ball to the tune of a .376 average with eight home runs, 36 doubles and 61 RBI in 351 at-bats at Triple-A Las Vegas when he was announced as a member of the U.S. Olympic Baseball Team.
