- Nature's Path
Nature's Path is a privately owned and family operated organic food company in North America. Nature's Path is North America's largest organic cereal brand and also sells certified organic breads, cookies, and snack bars in 42 countries around the world.
Arran Stephens, the CEO and co-founder with his wife Ratana, of Nature's Path opened Canada's first large organic supermarket in 1971. Called Lifestream, the supermarket had an electric-powered 20” stone-buhr mill which ground tons of fresh whole-grain flour every day. The Lifestream brand was eventually sold to Kraft/Phillip Morris and in 1985 the Stephens' started a new company: Nature's Path.
The first product produced by Nature's Path was called Manna Bread®. Based on a passage from The Essene Gospel, the bread was a sprouted bread. Eventually, the brand grew to 140 cereal and breakfast products with $300 million in annual sales. Andrew Weil teamed up with Nature's Path to introduce cobranded fruit and nut bars. The company owns 2240 acres of farmland in Saskatchewan used for organic farming.
