Background

Development

Nickelodeon saw The Naked Brothers Band: The Movie, in early 2006. They picked the show up in the Summer of 2006. Polly Draper asked her boys to record all the music for the series as an album.

Writing

After being asked to record an album, the brothers began writing several songs for the show. The songs had a pop style, directed more for younger viewers. Alex was only able to write two songs for the series, due to being 8 at the time.

Recording

In Summer 2006, the band finally arrived in the studio, and began recording the music for the series. They recorded the show's theme If That's Not Love, although they weren't happy with the version (this version was used as the theme for Season 1), so in May 2007 they returned to the studio and recorded a completely different version to the song which sounds more mature than the other tracks from the album.

Release

The band released the album on October 7, 2007. The album debuted at #23 on the Billboard 200 Albums chart.
