History

Bio-Engineered Supplements and Nutrition, Inc. (BSN) was founded in 2001, and employs over 120 individuals at its headquarters in Boca Raton, Florida and its warehouse in Tennessee.[1][verification needed] In 2007 Inc 500 ranked BSN No. 27 among the fastest-growing privately held companies in America , No. 2 among the fastest-growing privately held companies in Miami-Fort Lauderdale-Miami Beach, FL, No. 4 among the fastest-growing companies in the Health industry & No. 6 among the fastest-growing companies in the Southeast.[2]

In 2003, BSN was issued an Ephedra and misclaim warning letter for their weight-management supplement, Thermonex.[3]

In 2007 a federal district court in California certified a class action against the company. In the lawsuit, the company was charged with fraud for selling products that falsely claim to contain a new and improved form of creatine called CEM3 or Creatine Ethyl Ester Malate.[4]

In August 2006, BSN launched a clothing line, Train Like a Freak Apparel.[citation needed][original research?]

In July 2008, BSN became the Official Nutritional Supplement Provider of the UFC.[5]

Awards

At the 2009 Bodybuilding.com Supplement Awards, BSN won a record eight awards, among them "Brand of the Year," "Ad Campaign of the Year," and a fifth consecutive "Muscle-Builder of the Year" win for its flagship product N.O.-Xplode.[6]
