The Next Star
Mimoza entered the Canadian reality television show on YTV hosted by Adamo Ruggiero called The Next Star in Season 3 and made it to the top 6.[1] The finalists were featured in a YTV Holiday Special that December, in a music video with Carlos (The Zone singing "All I Want For Christmas Is You". During the competition, Duot also created her own song, "Insane (Thru With You)", which was a huge hit among her fans. However during the show, some controversy sparked as some argued that Diego Gomes and Mimoza liked each other. They both admitted it was true, but say they will remain friends. Currently, they are good friends and nothing more. She has now, made a new single, Love. Music video premiered on The Family Channel and on her Youtube channel.
Personal life
Mimoza Duot is a 14 year-old living in Winnipeg, Manitoba. She is currently attending Grade 9 in her high school in Winnipeg. Duot started posting Youtube video covers in 2009. She has been singing since she was 2 and she loves to sing, dance, and play guitar. Duot's older brother, Moises Duot auditioned for the first season of The Next Star but did not make it to the top 6. Her mother and father are both Filipino. Duot loves to express herself through music and enjoys it very much. She has been joining local singing competitions since the age of 6 and is a local performer in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
