Life and career
Teller was born in Downingtown, Pennsylvania. His parents, Merry (Flowers) and Mike Teller, were both from Carneys Point, New Jersey.[2][3] He lived in several places as a child, because of his father's career as a nuclear plant engineer,[4] spending time in Citrus County, Florida after moving from Cape May, New Jersey with his family.[5] He earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Tisch School of the Arts at New York University.[6]
Teller appeared in the stage musical Footloose.[7] This led to being cast in the film remake of Footloose, in which he played the same character as in the stage musical.[8] In 2011, he was cast in 21 and Over, written and directed by The Hangover writers Jon Lucas and Scott Moore.[9]
