The Michigan Journal of Business is a bi-annually published academic journal run by undergraduate students at the Stephen M. Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan. Founded in 2007, the Journal is the first undergraduate business journal in the United States with a worldwide audience, being distributed to over 200 University libraries in five continents. The Journal publishes distinguished theses, empirical research, case studies, and theories in issues relating to areas of Accounting, Economics, Finance, Marketing, Management, Operations Management, Information Systems, Business Law, Corporate Ethics, and Public Policy. The Journal was accepted into the Directories of Open Access Journals (DOAJ), a scholarly journal database that enlists more than 3000 of the world’s leading publications.[1]

The organization is entirely student-run, with an editorial staff of 20 students in the Department of Economics and the Stephen M. Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan. Each semester, the Journal calls for papers from undergraduate students at academic institutions. Throughout the semester, the editorial board reviews, edits, and selects work for publication. The selection rate for articles is 12%.[2]

History

The Michigan Journal of Business was created in September of 2007 by William Moon.
