Mealhada Municipality (Portuguese pronunciation: [miɐˈʎaðɐ]) is located in Aveiro District in Portugal. It has a total area of 110.7 km² and a total population of 21,282 inhabitants, and 17,043 electors (2006). The city of Mealhada itself has a population of 5.000.[1]

The municipality is composed of 8 parishes. It is included in the Coimbra Metropolitan Area. The city of Coimbra is about 15 km.

The present Mayor is Carlos Alberto Costa Cabral, elected by the Socialist Party.

The municipal holiday is Ascension Day.
