McKenzie College is a private career college, located in Sydney, Nova Scotia. The College was founded in 1988 and offered a variety of training programs.

In the early 1990s the College's president and owner, Donnie Snow, developed and introduced the first multimedia training program in Eastern Canada. The College became well known in Atlantic Canada in the technology and high tech industries. Mr. Snow had expanded the College to include three campuses, Halifax and Sydney Nova Scotia and Moncton, New Brunswick. Graduates of the college were positioned at an early time in the New Media field to take advantage of new opportunities offered by the adoption of digital technologies and the Internet.

In 1998, Donnie Snow, along with vice president Ken MacLeod, were instrumental in the opening of a technical innovation center in the former courthouse building in the city of Sydney, Nova Scotia. This new center, Silicon Island, housed the College along with a dozen other companies dedicated to computer, internet, media and communication technologies. Snow and MacLeod also began a distance education school, The Centre for Distance Education, in 1996.

By 1999, Snow and MacLeod had sold their interest in Silicon Island and The Centre for Distance Education, to Halifax based Knowledge House Inc., and became major shareholders in the Nova Scotia based company. Soon after, they sold the three Colleges to Moncton business man Dale Ritchie. The bursting of the dot com "bubble" and a heavy investment in Halifax based technology company Knowledge House, preceded the sale of the Sydney campus. McKenzie College's new owner and president, Todd Graham, moved the school to its present location in downtown Sydney.
