Maurice White is a 1985 album by Maurice White released on Columbia Records.[2] The album went to number 12 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums Charts. The single "Stand by Me" a cover of the Ben E. King classic reached number 6 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles & Tracks and number 11 on the Adult Contemporary charts.[3]

"I Need You" also became a minor hit and was later featured on the soundtrack for the 1986 film, Armed and Dangerous.[4]

The album was made available in a digitally remastered version in 2001, on Columbia/Legacy which includes four bonus tracks.[5] The Japanese CD features "Life" (E. Bulling, F. Golda, Martin Page, Maurice White) and "Can't Stop Love" (Martin Page, Skip Scarborough, Maurice White) as bonus tracks.
