The 2010 MassChallenge Startup Competition

Launched in April 2010 with $1M in total awards split amongst the top teams (selected from the final 26). The 2010 competition had 440 entrants from over 26 countries and 24 states and resulted in 111 finalists.[2] By providing an accelerator program to all finalists, MassChallenge is the world’s biggest and broadest startup accelerator[3]. The accelerator program ended with 26 companies in the running for a share of the $1,000,000.[4][5]. The first Final Awards Ceremony was held at Fan Pier, Boston on October 21, with keynotes by Mayor of Boston Thomas Menino, Steve Case, and Gregory Bialecki, Massachusetts Secretary of Housing and Economic Development.[6]
