It is part of the Wetzel County Schools district and is located at 601 Maple Avenue. As of the 2009-2010 school year, enrollment is 463 students. The feeder school for Magnolia is New Martinsville School. Its partner in education is Bayer.

History
Mascot
Magnolia's sports teams are now known as the "Blue Eagles". However, prior to 1933, the teams were known as the Blue Blizzard. The school changed the mascot to the Blue Eagles, the symbol of Franklin Roosevelt's National Recovery Act.
Building
The current building is the fifth incarnation of the school, having been built in 1987-1988 and opened for use in the 1988-89 school year. The building is built on the site of the fourth building, which was built in 1923 to house a rapidly growing student population. That building was razed after the completion of the new school; currently, the auditorium and music departments sit on that site. A portion of that building still stands, as it was part of a 1960 addition to the school. The former shop and vocational rooms have been renovated and house home economics, art, driver education, and health/wellness classrooms.

Teams
Magnolia's athletic teams currently play in the WVSSAC at the AA level and the OVAC at the AAA level. Teams include:

- Girls: Basketball, Softball, Volleyball, Track, Cross Country, Tennis, Cheerleading
- Co-ed: Soccer
The school also has a competitive bowling team, sponsored by Bruce Bowling Lanes, and plays in a local intramural league.

Football
Magnolia has been playing high school football since 1903 and has more than 600 victories. In 1912, Magnolia beat Woodsfield, Ohio 157-0 which still stands as the state record for the most points scored in a game[3].
A Magnolia football player has won the Kennedy Award on three occasions: Mark Cisar (twice) and Justin Fox.
