Bruno Šundov

Bruno Šundov

Bruno Šundov (born February 10 1980 in Split, SR Croatia, SFR Yugoslavia) is a Croatian professional basketball player, currently with ASK Riga. A center, he first distinguished himself in the 1998 International Junior Tournament won by the Croatian national junior team. He later won the silver medal at the 2001 World Championship for 22-and-under.

Šundov was a second round draft pick of the Dallas Mavericks in the 1998 NBA Draft and played for a number of NBA teams: the Mavericks (1998-2000), Indiana Pacers (2000-2002), Boston Celtics (2002-2003), Cleveland Cavaliers (2003-2004) and New York Knicks (January 2004 and 2004-2005). He averaged 1.7 points and one rebound per game over his NBA career.

In Europe, other than in Croatia, Šundov played with Maccabi Tel Aviv, Israel in February 2004, and Pepinster in Belgium in May of the same year. In September 2005, after leaving the NBA, he signed with Spain's Etosa Alicante, and two seasons later joined 5 consecutive years national champion Proteas EKA AEL in Cyprus, being crucial in the team's success in that season's EuroCup (a final third place).

In February 2008, Šundov was signed by Grupo Begar León, another ACB team, eventually relegated in 2007-08. In September, he joined Latvian team ASK Riga.
