Vidya Yeravdekar, The Principal Director for Symbiosis Society which governs Symbiosis International University and various other Institutes including Schools, Colleges Museums etc.


Dr.Vidya Yeravdekar is the Executive Director of the Symbiosis Centre for International Education under the aegis of the Symbiosis International University. She spearheads the process of Internationalisation at the University and has undertaken numerous initiatives like the Study India Program, Semester Abroad, the Scholar-In Residence, Summer Schools, setting up of Area Study Centres ( i.e. Japanese, European and American) etc.

Dr. Vidya a Post Graduate in Medicine also has a degree in Law, and is a member of University Grants Commission, & also a part of Governing body of Indian Council for Cultural Relations, New Delhi

Dr. Vidya Yeravdekar has participated in many educational fairs abroad to promote Indian Higher Education as well as the rich cultural heritage of India. She was recently chosen to be a part of the prestigious FICCI delegation accompanying the Hon’ble Educational Minister Shri. Kapil Sibal which visited various top Universities in U.S. to promote and enhance collaboration between Indian and U.S. Universities.

She is a member of the University Grants Commission, Government of India and is also the Chairperson of the “Promotion of Indian Higher Education” Committee – PIEHEAD Committee of UGC. She is a member of the Governing Body of the Indian Council for Cultural Relations, Government of India. She is nominated as a Chairperson of the Education Committee of Mahratta Chamber of Commerce, Industries & Agriculture. She is also nominated as a Member, Executive Council of National Institute of Agricultural Extension Management (MANAGE) which is under Ministry of Agriculture, Govt. of India.

Montek Singh Ahluwalia, Deputy Chairman, Planning Commission, Government of India. � 6) JIWO International Women Award for the outstanding achievement in Education field by the Jain International Women Organization (JIWO) has been awarded at the hands of Mrs. Rajlaxmi Bhosale, Mayor, Pune � 7) Giants Woman Achievers Award on the occasion of International Women’s Day by the Giants Group of Pune has been awarded at the hands of the President, Giants Group of Pune.
