Dough Boy (ダウ・ボーイ?)[2] is a Family Computer video game that was released for a Japanese-only market in 1985.

Summary

The general idea of the game is that the player must rescue a POW from a POW camp.[3][4] Players can die by being shot, falling into water (by drowning), being blown up by a land mine, and being run over by a tank.[3] A strict time limit of five minutes in order to keep the pace of the game relatively brisk.[3] After each round is completed, time is taken off the clock to make things more difficult.[3]

While this game is loosely based on the Metal Gear series of games, nonsense dominates the gameplay.[5] A "one-shot, one kill" system like in Contra makes dying (and the inevitable game over) a bit too easy to obtain.[4]

The background music of Stage 2 BGM is the American folk song When Johnny Comes Marching Home. During the end of stage 5, the background music is The Star-Spangled Banner; which is the American national anthem.
