David S. Katz

David S. Katz

David S. Katz FRHistS is professor of early modern European history at Tel Aviv University in Israel, where he has taught since 1978. He holds the Abraham Horodisch Chair for the History of Books (1994) and is director of the Lessing Institute for European History and Civilization. Katz received his D.Phil. from Oxford University (1978) where he was a pupil of Hugh Trevor-Roper (Lord Dacre). He was elected a fellow of the Royal Historical Society of England in 1993.
