David Robinson (born November 21, 1961) is an American business executive running as a Democrat for the Ohio House of Representatives in the 21st district, which includes Worthington, Worthington Hills, Minerva Park, Northland and parts of Columbus.

Biography
In 1984 Robinson graduated cum laude from the Ohio State University (OSU) in Honors Accounting (BSBA).[1] Following graduation from OSU, Robinson worked for Columbus-based Management Horizons (later a division of PricewaterhouseCoopers, LLP), serving as Research Analyst and Assistant to the President.[2] In 1991, Robinson received his M.A. in Theology from the Chicago Theological Seminary.[1] In 2002, he earned his Ph.D. from Emory University's Graduate Division of Religion, Theology and Psychology.[1]
Robinson is a vice president at Marcy Enterprises, Inc., a manufacturer of adhesive tape and packaging materials based in Columbus, Ohio.[3]
Public service
Robinson’s first significant entry into public service began in 1988, at age 26, when he planned and executed the Ride for Reason; a cross-country public-awareness and fund-raising solo bicycle ride that benefited the Alzheimer’s Association. He rode 4,700 miles, from Miami to Seattle, meeting with association members and support groups in 25 cities in support of local media and fund-raising events.[4] In January 2007, Robinson, as a trained volunteer of Al Gore's The Climate Project began making presentations throughout central Ohio about the challenges and opportunities available to us in addressing our energy-climate problems.[5]
Electoral politics
Robinson entered electoral politics by declaring as a Democratic candidate for Ohio’s 12th U.S Congressional seat in early January 2008. As a first-time candidate, he unexpectedly won the three-way Democratic primary race (against the endorsed candidate and one other) with 51% of the vote.[6] Robinson then entered the general election against four-term Republican incumbent Pat Tiberi. Robinson, with total campaign expenditures of $181,000 (vs. Tiberi’s $1,714,000)[7] lost the general election by a margin of 42.2% to 54.8% (with Libertarian candidate Steve Linnabary gaining 3%), winning Franklin County by nearly 10,000 votes while losing Delaware and Licking Counties by wide margins.

In mid-May, 2009, Robinson officially filed papers to form the campaign committee for his bid for the 21st Ohio House seat.[8]
