David Nelson (born May 25, 1993[1]) is an American software developer and entrepreneur, known for his role in the leadership and development of the Muziic project.[2][3]

David and his father, Mark Nelson, developed Muziic over the course of one year before launching the service.[2] The teenager came up with the idea to create a music-focused media player using open APIs (including YouTube's), after his father expressed interest in managing a YouTube-powered music website.[4] On March 8, 2009, CNET reported on the debut of Muziic. David Nelson has received particular attention in their coverage of the story, due to his age, ideas, and development skills.[4]

David, who lives in Bettendorf, Iowa, switched from a public high school to a private online high school to devote more time to the Muziic project.[2][4]
