Daniel Stevens is an American soccer player who is currently playing in Finland for Ykkönen side Palloseura Kemi Kings.

Youth career

Stevens is a youth product of the Syracuse Blitz Football Club. He Began his college career at SUNY Oneonta competing for the Red Dragons from 2004-2005. After his sophomore season Stevens Transferred to University at Buffalo. As a Junior for the Bulls he led the team and the Mid American Conference in assists while garnering 2nd team All-Conference and All-Tournament Team[1]. As a senior he was voted team MVP and earned 1st Team All-Conference and All-Tournament Team while Captaining the Bulls to the MAC championship game.[2]

Senior Career

From 2006-2009 Stevens played in the United Soccer Leagues with four different clubs: Michigan Bucks[3], Albany Admirals, Vermont Voltage,[4] and Kalamazoo Outrage. He won the PDL championship with the Michigan Bucks in the 2006 season. In 2008, Stevens was drafted by the Philadelphia Kixx of the Major Indoor Soccer League[citation needed].

FC Buffalo of the National Premier Soccer League signed the midfielder in 2010 and in return he led the team in goals and points, being named captain over the course of the season.[5]. His performances were recognized with a selection to the NPSL All Star team[6]. During the winter of 2011 Stevens trialed with Jevnaker IF and Nybergsund Trysil IL of Norway but was unable to obtain a permit. On April 8th, 2011, Finnish side PS Kemi Kings signed Stevens to 1 year contract.[7][8]

Stevens returned home after the 2011 Finnish season and signed with his hometown Syracuse Silver Knights of the Major Indoor Soccer League on October 25, 2011.[9]

Coaching career

Daniel is a USSF Licensed Coach and has trained and coached for many youth soccer clubs including Syracuse Blitz, Blackwatch Premier Albany, Vermont Voltage Academy, and Most recently Amherst Youth Soccer Association. He also spent the 2009-2010 as an assistant coach at Niagara University[10]. In 2009 the NU Purple Eagles reached the Conference Final for the 1st time in school history.
