Daniel Srb (23 November 1964) is a Croatian right-wing politician and president of the Croatian Party of Rights.

Early life and education

Srb was born in Osijek on 23 November 1964. He graduated from the Faculty of Engineering and Shipbuilding at the University of Zagreb. He was a teacher at EMŠC in Osijek in 1991, later he taught at KBC Osijek.

Political career

Since 1990 he has been an active politician. In 1992 he joined the Croatian Party of Rights.^[1] He held different party's, city's and county's services in Osijek. He was also a member of the Osijek Assembly for eight years.^[1] In 2005 he became the Deputy Prefect of the Osijek-Baranja County^[1] and from 2007 until 2008 he was an employee at DS Consulting. Srb also worked as the Assistant Director of the Clinical Hospital Osijek.^[1] On 6 February 2009 he became a member of theSabor as replacement of Anto Đapić. He was thevice-president of the party until 7 November 2009, when he replaced the previous president Đapić.

Srb's main effort was the removal of bad reputations of the Croatian Party of Rights made by the party's former president Anto Đapić.^[2] Srb is known for his euroscepticism,^[2] since his party is the only party in the Parliament of Croatia that doesn't advocate a membership in the European Union. He condemned the conviction of Ante Gotovina and Mladen Markač by the ICTY as politician.^[2]

During an interview he stated that the members of the Croatian Party of Rights will never accept any politics that increases the "influence of Republika Srpska and Republic of Serbia in Bosnia and Herzegovina, because that is, according to him, extremly harmful on the long term for Croatia and Croats of Bosnia and Herzegovina".

Personal life

He is married and has three children.

For seven times he was a champion of Croatia in rowing, and also, he is the president of Rowing Club "Iktus" based in Osijek.
