The men's team play at the 31 000 seat Jinzhou Stadium in Dalian, Liaoning, China.
Dalian Shide is the most successful club in Chinese professional football winning the first professional league season in 1994,[2] they have since won a total of 8 titles from both the Jia A and CSL seasons. Dalian Shide's owner is tycoon Xu Ming (zh:徐明 (企业家)).
Dalian possesses a well-funded and prolific academy.[3] Famous players include Zhang Enhua, who had a successful three month spell at then-first division English team Grimsby Town and Hao Haidong. Sun Jihai and Dong Fangzhuo are successful players with Sheffield United, Man City and Manchester United (now back to Dalian Haichang), respectively.

History
The predecessor of Dalian Shide was the Dalian Football Club, which was organised in 1982 to replace struggled Dalian Dockyards team's place in the China Division 2, the club promoted to the top level in 1984, and professionalized in 1993 as Dalian Wanda FC.
The men's team is by far the most successful team in Chinese football, winning 7 of the 10 Jia A seasons and has also claimed the crown in the second Chinese Super League season. Dalian also reached the quarterfinals of the first two ACL editions but have recently been inconsistent due to team and coach changes, especially the retirement of talisman Hao Haidong. Currently, the team is primarily academy members. Since 2008, Dalian Shide has selected a number of players for its satellite team in the S.League in Singapore, called Dalian Shide Siwu FC.
On 14 February 2010, Zhang Yalin died of lymphoma in Dalian, Liaoning, aged 28, after a two-year-battle with the disease.[4]

Stadium
Dalian would play in the 55,843 seater multi-purpose Dalian People's Stadium for much of their early history.[5] In 1997 the club would move to the recently built 31 000 seater Jinzhou Stadium multi-use seater stadium in Dalian, China.[6]
