red dwarf star in theconstellation Cetus . Although it is relatively close to theSun at just over 12light year s, this star can not be seen with the naked eye. It is classified as aflare star that undergoes intermittent fluctuations inluminosity . YZ Ceti is only about 8.5% the mass of our Sun, and is normally less than 1/5000th as luminous.Fact|date=May 2008This star is unusually close to
