Gobbler Football
The high school is well-known for its 3 time state champion 3A football program. The Cuero Gobblers football team's overall record is 654 wins 338 loses 38 ties as of the end of the 2010 season. The Gobblers are currently under the leadership of head coach Rick Owens. Gobblers's 2010 season record was 9-3. From 1973-1975 they won 44 consecutive games. During that streak they had an amazing 26 shutouts over the 44 game span: 9 in 1973, 9 in 1974 and 8 in 1975.
Trotters
The Cuero High School Trotters Dance and Drill Team is an organization that promotes school spirit through dance. The Trotters have been high-kicking for over 35 years and continue to entertain audiences to date. They attend all of the high school varsity football games and support other sports teams as well. They are well known for their unique half time performances, which consist of jazz, prop and traditional high kick routines. Off the field the girls are trained in many different types of dance including lyrical, modern, novelty, etc. The Trotters compete in dance contests during the off-season of football and have brought home many outstanding awards. The sponsor for this organization is Ms. Brittany McGrew, she began supervising the Trotters in 2010.
Yell Team
In 2002, Cuero High School created the Yell Team an organization composed of high school students. They not only attend all of the football games, but are the biggest cheering section of all the fans. With their homemade noise makers, and their one of a kind cheers, the Yell Team is sure to keep the crowd going! The sponcer of the Yell Team is Mrs. Zuniga. Captain for the Yell Team is Austin Gallaway.
